Weaving Workshops

Weaving - the creation of fabric (or products) by interlacing two separate yarns.  Most often by using a frame or loom. 

There are many types of weaving forms and looms and projects that can be made into workshops.  Here is a general list for ideas.  Check out our separate pages for more project information.

 

Rigid Heddle Looms

 

Rigid heddle looms are used to create woven fabric that can be used for garments, accessories or home decor items.  They can also be used to create projects such as scarves, table runners and rugs.

Tapestry Weaving

 

Tapestry weaving is the art of weaving pictures or geometric designs with yarn, roving or raw fleece.  Designs can be simple or very detailed.  

 

Looms can be a simple frame loom as pictured here, a rigid heddle loom or a large loom specifically made for weaving tapestries.
