The Cookie Cutter Kits are so much fun to make. Use the cookie cutter as a template. It keeps the felting needles away from your fingers and the fibers contained. Then add the details with the felting needle. Color it simple, use our designs as a guide or get creative and design your own.
All kits include:
Did you know that Moose have hooves that act like snowshoes? They help them walk in the snow, mud and through marshy areas. This mini moose is only 4" tall.
Did you know that Moose antlers can be 6' from tip to tip? They can sprint about 35 miles and hour and easily trot at 20 mph. The flap of skin under their throat that sways back and forth when they walk is called the bell.
Did you know that moose antlers are also called paddles which are shed in the winter and grow back during the spring. In the spring they are soft and velvety. In the fall, the moose rubs off the velvet on trees and they become hard and shiny. Moose antlers grow larger every year. The nubs become spikes and the spikes become racks. These antlers are heavy - weighing about 40 pounds.
Did you know that the largest snowman EVER was built in Bethel, Maine? It took the world record in 2013. It also took the town about 1 month to complete the impressive 122' 1" snowwoman that they named Olympia Snowe after Maine's senator, Olympia Snowe. How cool is that?
New England gets a lot of snowfall each year. The average amount of snow is about 35". Of course it snows more in the mountains where it's possible to get about 100" or more! That's a lot of snow. And it can get pretty cold too. That's why this snowman is wearing a scarf. Will he be wearing his scarf all winter long? You'll just have to wait and see.
